KESAN KEINDAHAN UNSUR FANTASI DALAM SYAIR BONGSU PINANG PERIBUT DAN SUSU GANDA (SBPPSG) DAN CHERITA BONGSU PINANG PERIBUT (CBPP)

THE EFFECTS OF AESTHETIC FANTASY ELEMENTS IN SYAIR OF BONGSU PINANG PERIBUT AND SUSU GANDA (SBPPSG) AND CHERITA BONGSU PINANG PERIBUT (CBPP)

Abstract

Kajian ini membandingkan aspek kesan keindahan dalam Syair Bongsu Pinang Peribut dan Susu Ganda (SBPPSG) dengan Cherita Bongsu Pinang Peribut (CBPP) menerusi unsur fantasi. Teks lipur lara sememangnya terkenal dalam masyarakat Melayu tradisional kerana ia merupakan wadah hiburan utama yang dapat menguraikan tekanan emosi dan melegakan nafsu haiwani mereka. Atas kesedaran mengenai sifat ‘luar biasa’, ‘ajaib’ dan ‘gharib’ dalam teks lipur lara mampu berfungsi memanjangkan imaginasi khalayak, maka unsur-unsur tersebut dieksploitasi penglipur lara dengan sebaik mungkin dalam karyanya. Tujuannya adalah bagi menonjolkan keindahan yang dapat memberi kesan keindahan kepada khalayak sesuai dengan fungsi lipur lara, iaitu untuk menghibur hati. Paparan aspek keindahan ini jelas memperlihatkan kekreatifan dan kebijaksanaan para penglipur lara dalam menyampaikan hiburan kepada khalayak. Justeru, aspek kesan keindahan ini dikupas melalui Sfera Keindahan yang dikemukakan oleh V.I Braginsky. Dapatan kajian menjelaskan bahawa unsur fantasi merupakan salah satu unsur yang membina teks lipur lara. Dapatan tersebut kemudiannya membuktikan bahawa kesan keindahan ini diperoleh melalui perbandingan unsur fantasi antara kedua-dua teks yang akhirnya berupaya menentukan teks manakah yang lebih indah. Seterusnya, Sfera Keindahan ini dilihat sebagai suatu pendekatan yang tepat untuk diaplikasikan terhadap teks tradisional, lebih-lebih lagi teks lipur lara kerana ia sememangnya sarat dengan deskripsi keindahan.

This study compares the effects of beauty in Syair Bongsu Pinang Peribut dan Susu Ganda (SBPPSG) with Cherita Bongsu Pinang Peribut (CBPP) through the elements of fantasy. Malay folktales are famously well known in Malay traditions because they are the main form of entertainment which can help to release stress as well as restrains animalistic lusts. Due to the awareness about the traits of ‘extraordinary’, ‘miracle’ and ‘rare’ in Malay folktales, they could function to extend the people’s imagination; those elements are excellently exploited by the narrator in his literary piece. The purpose is to highlight the prominence of beauty which can affect the viewers’ sense of beauty, as well as to entertain. This effect of beauty clearly exemplifies the creativity and wisdom of the narrator in entertaining the audience. The effect of beauty insinuated in this research was explained through the Sphere of Beauty which was coined by V.I Braginsky. The results obtained show that the element of fantasy is one of the elements that develops the folktales. The result also proves that this effect of beauty can be obtained through the comparison of the elements of fantasy between the two texts which can then determine which text is more aesthetically superior. Furthermore, this Sphere of Beauty can be seen as an accurate approach to be applied in traditional texts, especially the folktales because it is undeniably full of explanations emphasising the elements of beauty.
