NOVEL EPISOD CINTA DI TANAH HIJRAH IN THE READING OF INTERTEXTSTUALITY
Abstract
Makalah ini bertujuan menganalisis unsur-unsur intertekstualiti dalam novel Episod Cinta Di Tanah Hijrah karya Amaruszati Noor Rahim. Analisis dan perbincangan dibuat secara deskriptif berpandukan teori Intertekstualiti yang dikemukakan oleh Julia Kristeva (1980). Teori ini memberi penekanan kepada penelitian hubungan yang wujud antara teks pengarang dengan teks-teks yang lain yang berada di sekitar teks pengarang. Beberapa alat ukur Intertekstualiti ialah transformasi, modifikasi, ekspansi, demitefikasi, haplologi, defamiliarisasi dan paralel. Analisis menunjukkan idea dan perkembangan plot dalam novel Episod Cinta Di Tanah Hijrah terhasil daripada gabungan beberapa aspek lain di luar teks asal seperti sejarah Tanah Melayu, pengalaman peribadi pengarang, merupakan antara teks utama yang berhubungan dengan karya ini. Elemen sejarah ini dapat dikesan dalam teks `Memoir Samsiah Fakeh`, novel `Lefternan Adenan Wira Bangsa` dan pengalaman benar dalam masyarakat kini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahawa novel Episod Cinta Di Tanah Hijrah tidak terhasil atas kapasiti keunggulan satu idea sahaja, sebaliknya dijayakan dengan berkesan oleh kehadiran teks-teks lain yang Berjaya menghidupkan jalan cerita.
This paper aims to analyze the elements of intertextuality in the novel Episod Cinta di Tanah Hijrah (2009) written by Amaruszati Rahim Noor. Analysis and discussion was guided by descriptive theory of intertextuality proposed by Julia Kristeva (1980). This theory focuses on research relationship that exists between the author of the text with the other texts that surround the text editor. Several intertextuality measures like transformation, modification, expansion, demitefication, haplology, defamiliarisation and parallel. Analysis showed the idea and development of the plot in Episod Cinta di Tanah Hijrah was derived from the combination of several other aspects beyond the original text such as history of Malaya, the author’s personal experience, is among the main text associated with this ’Memoirs Samsiah Fakeh’, novel ’Lieutenant Adenan Bangsa’ and the present true experience of the society. The analysis showed that the novel Episod Cinta di Tanah Hijrah was not a result of one idea only, but was developed effectively by the presence of other texts which had successfully from the storyline.
